• The Wisdom of a Queen
  • The following is an account of Queen Elizabeth II after an argument she had with her husband. After a day of work, the Queen returned to her residence to find that the door to her room was locked. She was upset to have the door locked in her way and said to her husband, "I, Queen of Great Britain, order you to open this door!" When no response was heard from the other side of the door, the Queen changed the tone of her voice and said tenderly, "Dear, this is your beloved Elizabeth. Won't you open the door as it is a little cold out?" Only then was the door opened.
The key to opening the door to the other's heart is found not in authority or commands but in a warm heart that can fathom the other person's standpoint and a love by which one can truly humble himself.
