If someone proposed, "I will exchange the amount of stones you gather in one days time with the same amount of gold," what do you imagine would transpire?
As soon as the clock strikes midnight and until it strikes again the following midnight, you will find and gather stones with diligence. You will cancel all other appointments and will not want to "waste" your time on eating or resting. This is because the amount of work you put in during that one days time will determine how rich you will become and you know this very well.
Rewards in heaven are exactly the same. Until that last moment at which we are called to heaven, the manner of life we lead here will determine the eternal rewards in heaven. One with such a hope will cherish the slightest space of time and will not delay for any reason in becoming a messenger of the love of Jesus Christ.
