Some feel disheartened when they come across difficulties, and they miss the ¡®better old days¡¯. Far from giving thanks, they complain and grumble. They may even irresponsibly neglect or abandon their duties. But a person of goodness is able to give thanks in difficulties keeping in mind the many things he had enjoyed that were all the result of God¡¯s grace. Rather than being disheartened in times of hardship, it serves as a good opportunity for them to grasp the relative value of what they had enjoyed in the past and give heartfelt thanks to God.
