Lecture on Genesis(26)
Scripture
Genesis 1:6-8
[6] Then God said, "Let there be an expanse in the midst of the waters, and let it separate the waters from the waters."
[7] God made the expanse, and separated the waters which were below the expanse from the waters which were above the expanse; and it was so.
[8] God called the expanse heaven. And there was evening and there was morning, a second day.
Dear brothers and sisters in Christ.
This is 26th Lecture on Genesis.
In the last lecture, I explained about the works on the 1st day of Creation. I will now talk about the 2nd day.
There were no humans who watched the process of God's work of creation.
So then, how could Moses, the recorder of Genesis, have known all these processes of Creation?
He was able to know about the processes because God personally told Moses about it.
God was with Moses, and showed the evidences that God is alive.
For example if you think about the ten signs of the Ten Plagues that God manifested before Pharaoh through Moses, you can understand that God was with Moses.
Exodus 7:1 says, "Then the LORD said to Moses, "See, I make you as God to Pharaoh.""
Like this, there is firm evidence that God was with Moses, and because of this we can believe that this record in Genesis that Moses recorded is the word of God, and that it is true.
In the same way that God was with Moses, He is also with this church today, and He has manifested countless sings and wonders.
Furthermore, He interpreted this Genesis Lecture in the inspiration of the Holy Spirit.
Therefore, I urge you to believe that every word in this Lecture on Genesis is true.
Through this Genesis Lecture, may things that haven't been explained through science will be explained.
There will also be things mentioned that conflict with existing scientific theory and with the common sense of the world.
Even so, I urge you to believe that this Genesis Lecture is true.
We have many signs and wonders that prove this Lecture.
The creation power of God surpasses the limits of men's knowledge.
God has done the works of creation with infinite wisdom and power that surpass the knowledge and ability of man.
God the Creator cannot do the work of creation within the boundary of limited knowledge of people just for them to be able to understand it.
People, mere creatures, are not in the position to judge whether the God's work of creation is right or wrong.
From the depths of their hearts, they can only stand in awe of the perfect works of creation by the LORD God of Creation.
Dear brothers and sisters in Christ.
Now, let me tell you about the 2nd day of Creation.
How did the earth look before the 2nd day?
It was completely submerged in the water of life.
On the 2nd Day of Creation, God said, "Let there be an expanse in the midst of the waters, and let it separate the waters from the waters."
As He said, the expanse was made in the middle of the water of life that completely covered the earth.
Here, you should make sure that the water didn't cover just the surface of the earth in those days.
There was so much water that even the highest mountain on earth was completely submerged under the water.
And then, the expanse was made, and this expanse separated the waters which were below the expanse from the waters which were above the expanse.
God called the expanse that exists in between the waters "heaven".
By t he way, the creation works of the 2nd Day took place both in the fleshly world and in the spiritual world.
Let me tell you about the work done in the fleshly world first.
The fact that the expanse was made on earth shows that the atmosphere was formed on earth.
The atmosphere is the layer of air from the ground up to at an altitude of 1,000 kilometers.
The atmosphere plays many roles in allowing for living things to survive.
Most of the air is located in this atmosphere from the ground up to an altitude of 30 kilometers.
In this air, there is oxygen and other gasses that are necessary for animals and plants to breathe.
In addition, the atmosphere absorbs harmful lights that come from the sun or from the outer space.
It also plays the role of a shield that protects the earth surface from the collision with meteorites and solar debris.
It also absorbs and holds some of the heat from the surface of the earth to keep the earth warm.
It also reduces the temperature difference in parts of the earth by dispersing the heat evenly through convection and advection currents.
This atmosphere that plays such an important role was created on the 2nd Day.
God separated the waters from the waters with this expanse in the middle.
Now, what does "the waters below the expanse" refer to?
Simply speaking, it refers to the waters in the earth.
"The waters below the expanse" were gathered into one place on the 3rd day, to form "seas."
Then, what about "the waters above the expanse"?
They refer to water vapor in the air.
At the certain temperature, the water vapor in the air condenses into water droplets.
As these water droplets gathers, it becomes "clouds" that are visible to your eyes.
As the water droplets increase in size and weight and fall down, it is precipitation called 'rain'.
As the temperature goes down, the water drop in the clouds turn into ice.
This ice falls down to the ground from the cloud, in the form of frozen precipitation like snow or hail.
Like this, thanks to the waters above the expanse, water is evenly provided to all parts of the earth and living things can survive.
The waters that became rain or snow later evaporate as water vapor, rise in the air, and become clouds.
God let the circulation of water take place by allowing waters turn into vapor, liquid, or solid at a certain temperature.
These facts were defined by modern science only in modern times.
However, the fact about this circulation of water was already written in the Bible thousands years ago.
That is, Job 36:27-28 says, ""For He draws up the drops of water, they distill rain from the mist, which the clouds pour down, They drip upon man abundantly."
Jeremiah 10:13 also says, "When He utters His voice, there is a tumult of waters in the heavens, And He causes the clouds to ascend from the end of the earth; He makes lightning for the rain, And brings out the wind from His storehouses."
In addition, Job 26:8 says, "He wraps up the waters in His clouds, And the cloud does not burst under them."
And Ecclesiastes 11:3 says, "If the clouds are full, they pour out rain upon the earth."
Generally, the heat from the sun evaporates billions of water per second about 1200 cubic feet of water per second from the earth's surface water.
This evaporated water goes up to the sky and forms clouds.
Winds and air current moves these clouds, and make rain or snow fall down to the ground.
For this, Job 37:11-12 says, "Also with moisture He loads the thick cloud; He disperses the cloud of His lightning. It changes direction, turning around by His guidance, that it may do whatever He commands it on the face of the inhabited earth."
This vast amount of water from the surface of earth goes up against gravity into the atmosphere, and water stays in the air as it moves to a certain place where it is needed; all this is in amazing wisdom of God.
However, this circulation of water didn't begin from the 2nd day of creation.
It is because the sun had not yet been created.
On the 4th day of Creation, after the sun and the moon were created, the surface and seawaters could be evaporated.
The heat of the sun raises the temperature of the sea surface, and the ebb and flow of the tide due to the moon causes wind to blow and help the evaporation.
Through this work, clouds can form and rain can fall.
And thanks to rain, lakes and rivers can form in the land.
Therefore, even though the waters were separated into the waters above the expanse and the waters below the expanse on the 2nd day of Creation, the waters below the expanse didn't form seas, lakes, or rivers yet.
Dear brothers and sisters in Christ.
Due to the creation work on the 2nd Day, a new part was created in the spiritual realm.
By the way, the spiritual realm here refers to the spiritual space in the second heaven.
In the second Lecture on Genesis, I explained to you about the "heavens."
The heavens were originally one when God existed in a form of light containing sound in the whole universe.
Then, God cohered into one light at the vertex of the spiritual realm.
I told you that, as the light travels further from this vertex, the intensity of light diminishes.
The original space, which used to be one, was divided into four different spaces according to the brightness of light and the intensity of spirit.
This concept of "space" is expressed in the term of "heaven."
Therefore, four spaces mean four heavens.
At the same time, the original light that cohered at the vertex of the spiritual realm divided itself into God the Trinity.
And this original space divided into four; the 4th where the vertex of the spiritual realm is located, the 3rd where the heavenly kingdom would be created, and the 2nd and 1st heavens.
At the time when the original space was divided into four heavens, each heaven didn't have any contents.
They were just divided first for each to serve its purpose, and then contents were created later to fill the spaces.
First of all, the contents to fill the 4th heaven which is the space for God the Trinity were created.
That is, the thrones where God the Father, God the Son, and God the Holy Spirit sit and their dwelling places were prepared.
And then, spiritual beings such as angels and cherubim that God would control were created in the 3rd heaven and their dwelling places were also created.
By the way, this 3rd heaven is not actually a spiritual place for angels or cherubim, but it is rather the place for the saved children of God.
"The heavenly Kingdom" was created in the 3rd heaven.
This heavenly Kingdom began being created in earnest after the Lord resurrected and ascended into Heaven.
By the way, the time when a spiritual space called "third heaven" was created is different from the time when the heavenly Kingdom was created.
It is the same for the 1st and 2nd heavens.
The time when these heavens were created was the same with the time when the 3rd and 4th heavens were created.
However, at this time, they existed as a void space where there were no contents at all.
Through the works of creation, God began to fill the 2nd and 1st heavens with contents one by one.
The important contents of the 1st heaven are the sun, the moon, and stars, the heavenly bodies that affect the Earth which would be the stage for human cultivation.
These things were created orderly during the period of earth creation and 6 Day Creation.
Then, when were the contents of the spiritual realm, which is also called 'the 2nd heaven' created?
It was on the 2nd day of creation.
Many of you who heard the Genesis Lecture Version 1 would remember that "the 2nd heaven was created on the 2nd day of creation."
However, I am explaining now that the 2nd heaven was created before, and the contents of the 2nd heaven were created on the 2nd day of creation.
By the time of Genesis Lecture Version 1, I was delivering the lectures as I was receiving God's revelation little by little.
And thus, I didn't tell you about the general concept first, but gave you explanation in parts.
In this second version of Genesis Lecture, I give the general concept first, and then explain the details.
However, I don't mean that the explanation that the 2nd heaven was created on the 2nd day of creation is wrong.
It is because the major parts of the 2nd heaven were created on the 2nd day of creation.
Now, what are the major parts of the 2nd heaven, and how were they created?
According to tonight's scripture, God made the expanse, and called the expanse Heaven.
Earlier, I said that this explains the works of creation of physical world and those of the spiritual world at the same time.
I also told you that the creation of expanse in the physical world means that atmosphere was created.
At the same time, the 2nd heaven, which is the spiritual world, was divided into two separate places.
That is, God created a domain of light and a domain of darkness.
Lucifer and the evil spirits that were released from Abyss on the 1st day of creation came to stay in this domain of darkness of the 2nd heaven on the 2nd day.
During the period of human cultivation, God allowed Lucifer and the evil spirits to dwell in the domain of darkness in the 2nd heaven.
The dwelling places for Lucifer and the evil spirits were prepared inside the domain of darkness.
And in the future, they would be given the authority to rule according to justice the fleshly existence that would be created in the 1st heaven.
About these evil spirits, Ephesians 2:2 calls them "the prince of the power of the air."
And Ephesians 6:12 calls them "the world forces of this darkness" and "the spiritual forces of wickedness in the heavenly places."
IN these verses, "the air" and "the heavenly places" all refer to the same place, which is the domain of darkness in the 2nd heaven.
By the way, as the human cultivation ends, and the 7 Year Great Tribulation comes to a close its end, the evil spirits are banished from this 2nd heaven.
That is, Revelation 12:7-9 says, "And there was war in heaven, Michael and his angels waging war with the dragon The dragon and his angels waged war, and they were not strong enough, and there was no longer a place found for them in heaven. And the great dragon was thrown down, the serpent of old who is called the devil and Satan, who deceives the whole world; he was thrown down to the earth, and his angels were thrown down with him."
In this verse, "the earth" refers to the 1st heaven, which is fleshly - physical- world.
At the end of the 7 Year Great Tribulation, the evil spirits are thrown down to this earth, and they directly incite the evil people.
As evil builds upon evil, horrible scenes take place in many corners of the globe.
Likewise, many parts of the Bible write about a separate place where the evil spirits dwell.
Now, what is inside the domain of light in the 2nd heaven?
The place for 7 Year Wedding Banquet is prepared inside the domain of light in the 2nd heaven. This is the place where saved souls who are the fruit of human cultivation and the Lord will enjoy the 7 Year Banquet together.
1 Thessalonians 4:17 says, "Then we who are alive and remain will be caught up together with them in the clouds to meet the Lord in the air, and so we shall always be with the Lord."
"The air" in this verse refers to the separate place inside the domain of light of the 2nd heaven.
However, I don't mean that the pace for wedding banquet was completely created on the 2nd day of creation.
Just as the heavenly kingdom began to be created in earnest after the Lord's resurrection and ascension, the place for wedding banquet was created later as well.
Bythe way, the major part that takes up the main area in the domain of light of the 2nd heaven is the "Garden of Eden."
Most people, even those who believe in God, think that the Garden of Eden existed somewhere on the earth.
And there are explorers who search here and there in Israel or other areas of the Middle East.
However, no remains of the Garden of Eden have never been found anywhere on the earth.
It is because the Garden of Eden was not created on earth. The earth is the physical and fleshly world, but in the 2nd heaven, everything is a part of the spiritual world.
After God created Adam, the first man on earth, He brought him into the Garden of Eden in the 2nd heaven.
It was possible because, even though Adam was created from the dust, he was not a fleshly being.
Genesis 2:7 says, "Then the LORD God formed man of dust from the ground, and breathed into his nostrils the breath of life; and man became a living being."
Thanks to God's breath of life, Adam became a living being, a living spiritual being.
An adequate place for such Adam was a spiritual place in the 2nd heaven, rather than this fleshly space.
The Garden of Eden is a spiritual place in the 2nd heaven. However, it is different from the heavenly Kingdom in the 3rd heaven.
Even though the Garden of Eden is surely a spiritual place, when the beings that reside in the Garden of Eden come down to this earth, they can be seen physically by the eyes of people of flesh. The people of flesh can even physically touch them.
On the other hand, the angels that come down from the heavenly kingdom in the 3rd heaven cannot be seen or touched by people of flesh.
God created Adam as a living being and God created a separate place for Adam called "the Garden of Eden" in the 2nd heaven which is a spiritual space.
The environment of the Garden of Eden is similar to that of the earth, but the plants and animals there don't die, don't perish, and don't have foul smell since it is a spiritual place.
It is clean and pure, and the beautiful environment is maintained the way it is.
The Garden is Eden is enormously huge beyond the scope of your imagination.
Don't be confused with a small garden here, just because it is called a "garden."
It is too huge to be compared even to this earth.
I will tell you in detail about the Garden of Eden as we get to Genesis Chapter 2.
Dear brothers and sisters in Christ.
I told you about the "expanse" which God created on the 2nd day of creation.
I explained to you about the expanse of the physical world, which is the atmosphere; I also explained about the waters above the expanse and the waters below the expanse.
I said that the expanse of the spiritual realm refers to the domain of light and the domain of darkness of the 2nd heaven.
By the way, the domain of light and the domain of darkness meet each other in the 2nd heaven.
I will introduce its corresponding verses in the Bible, and another special space in the 2nd heaven in later Genesis lectures.
Especially in the next lecture, I will tell you about the amazing providence of creation contained in snow that comes down from the sky.
God the Father explained it in great depth.
Proverbs 3:19-20 says, "The LORD by wisdom founded the earth, by understanding He established the heavens. By His knowledge the deeps were broken up and the skies drip with dew."
Even the phenomenon of the creation of dew in the air was created by the wisdom of God.
I hope that you can feel and realize the power and divine nature, and delicate love of God even from the dew on a leaf.
Those who are provided with enough water don't feel the importance of water.
On the other hand, people can feel a desperate need of water in a place like a desert.
However, God prepared at least a way for living things to survive in a desert.
That is "the morning dew."
Of course, even in a desert, animals and plants can survive in an oasis.
However, the living things can survive in a desert where there is no oasis thanks to this morning dew.
For example, here is a way for a beetle to survive in Namib Desert in South Western Africa.
In a desert, the temperature difference is huge.
At night, the air cools down and it is mixed with hot air that was heated during the day, and they create morning dew.
Before the sunrise, beetles come out of the sand, and lie face down on a slope.
The fog that touches the cold back of beetles become dew, and the dew falls down to the mouth of the beetle.
In the desert where there is no water, beetles take water in this way, and hide themselves under the sand as the sun rises.
Like this, dew becomes a source of life for the animals and plants that survive in a desolate desert.
To the extent your heart becomes pure and good, you can feel the divine nature and love of God the Creator.
Moreover, you are now listening to detailed explanation about the deep and amazing providence of God's creation.
Therefore, may you possess all the more pure and good heart to understand even the depth of God's heart and to live the life that God wants you to live, in the name of the Lord, Jesus Christ, I pray!
[Amen]
