[22] Confession
[Verse 1]
I was lost, running fast to a bitter end.
The Word of life, to me was folly.
In the dark of sin I was blinded.
The light was impossible to see.
But the Lord stretched out His hands,
for a fool like me He had pity.
He did not turn away
but He helped me to stand.
In His love He helped me find my way.
[Verse 2]
I had walked hand in hand
with the darkness of the world.
How could I've known
that sin was darkness?
I followed the lust of my eyes
and I vent the lust of my flesh.
I was foolish in so many ways,
but He let me see the light of true life.
He let me hear the sound
of the Holy Spirit's lament.
My Lord never turned His back on me.
[Refrain]
I confess with joy and a tear-stained face
I'll not forget Your love forever.
I'll never forsake Your grace and favor.
I'll cherish the patience of our God
and the love from You oh my Lord!
[Verse 3]
I will stand again
and take both of His hands.
He'll hold me in His strength and power.
I know now with the Holy Spirit's guidance
there is nothing I cannot overcome.
I will cast off the filthiness of sin
and go the way of righteousness.
Until I become righteous
by the Word of God,
I'll not look back to the world again.
